Sir James Matthew Barrie is born in Angus, Scotland. He was a writer and playwright. After moving to London, inspired by the activities and imaginations of the young Llewelyn Davies boys, he wrote his most famous work, Peter Pan. Coincidentally, he is also credited with popularizing the name Wendy, which had previously been quite uncommon.
